pi(e)

Carmi's Thematic Photographic is up for the week and the subject this time is "letters, numbers, and other characters".  I have chosen pi.

pie chart

(Above is the chocolate mixed nut praline pie we had after supper - It was a VERY good pie - but this doesn't really count as my thematic photo).

Seriously though, I do miss working with numbers... real, imaginary, complex, irrational... you know, "fun" numbers.

Some time in September of 2009 I decided engineering might not be for me and paused my studies.  I'm still not sure what convinced me to trade in that slide-rule for a chef knife...  I think I'll blame Disney Pixar's Ratatouille (it was the "always-on-repeat-movie" of the time).

At any rate, I still have that old slide rule... I might just finish that degree yet.  Or something else that involves crazy math.  I'm not sure.  The point is, I'm crazy.

    1. Thanks Gilly. I've seen the joke before, so I can't take full credit, but I did make this from scratch (both the pie, and then the pic)

  3. I'd say not crazy at all! One must follow their dreams and do what moves you! You posted my most favorite kind of pie chart! Real live pie! I do love pie!

  5. I'll bet your favourite film and book is 'The Life of Pi'.

Now I'm off to dig out my 50 year old slide rule.

  6. lol! I can't see pie without thinking of the pie song in the movie Michael.

Math is not necessarily my thing. Wish I liked numbers like that. Hubs is an engineer and loves numbers. Or likes numbers. Definitely GETS numbers. I on the other hand, if it is past basic math, have to work hard for it!

Enjoy the rest of your pie!
